Rodney Mitchell
Senior Pastor
Pastor Rodney Mitchell has been Senior Pastor at Rocky Knoll for over nine years. He and his wife, Anita, have been serving the Lord together for 32 years. Rodney had the privilege of teaching and coaching for 15 years and Anita still teaches fourth graders.
Rodney Mitchell and his wonderful wife, Anita, met at Tennessee Temple College as education majors and married two years later after their graduation.
Rodney and Anita have three wonderful children: Christa, Micah and Alicia. They have added to their family with a son-in-law, Mitch, married to Christa and a daughter-in-law, Linzi, married to Micah. Mitch and Christa’s love blossomed into Rodney’s first grandchild, Rhett.
“All my family loves the beach, especially Surfside Beach”, relates Rodney, “It has been a great place to build memories over the past 27 years. God has been so good to us.”
Rodney enjoys swimming at the YMCA, cheering for the Tarheels, and connecting with family and friends. His greatest joy is seeing God work in people’s lives and watching them mature in their faith. “That is one of the reasons I started a Sunday School class for young adults called the Family and Foundations”, says Rodney.
“It would be our honor to have you as a special guest. This is a wonderful place for God to build a life and a family. Our heartbeat is to promote true spiritual maturity by pointing people to Jesus Christ and the truth of God’s Word. Come and worship with us at ‘The Rock’.’’
